BSP KRS system is used for installing suspended ceilings. The system consists of BSP RW2F aluminium top hat profile, a threaded rod made of stainless steel, BSP KRS1 aluminium bracket and one of BSP aluminium profiles to which cladding panel is fixed. All elements of KRS system are made of extruded aluminium alloy EN AW 6060 T66 or EN AW 6063 T6.
BSP RW2F top hat profile can be fixed to the ceiling in two ways: either short pieces or continuous profile are used. Anchors are selected based on static calculations. Using continuous profile has big advantage of keeping all brackets and cladding panels on the same level almost effortlessly. Bracket is connected to the profile with a stainless steel threaded rod. The diameter of the rod is selected based on static calculations, standard diameter is 8 mm. BSP KRS system can be used for any suspension height as it depends only on the length of the used rods. Greater suspensions should be reinforced by elements fixed to side walls or in case it’s impossible by oblique struts.
BSP KRS1 bracket is 4 mm thick and comes in single length of 100 mm. Standard size of the bracket is 60 mm. The vector of the force impacting the bracket is parallel to its 100 mm side, therefore 60 mm wide bracket is usually sufficient to meet all static requirements. There is additional aluminium piece on the side of the bracket that creates kind of a pocket (1,5 mm wide) that is used for fixing profiles and enables cladding leveling. All of the slots in the brackets were designed to ensure that aluminium expansion is possible.
All elements of BSP substructure system have B durability class in accordance with PN-EN 1999-1-1:2011 and may be used without any additional anti-corrosion treatment in environments of class C1, C2 and C3 according to PN-EN ISO 12944-2:2001. If additional protective layer is applied – anodizing – they can be used in environment of class C4. All elements of the system are also classified as A1 class in the scope of reaction to fire according to PN-EN 13501-1+A1:2010 based on the decision of the European Commission No. 96/603/EC, 2000/605/EC and 2003/424/WE.
BSP KRS system should be installed in accordance with the workshop design prepared by engineers and designers with sufficient knowledge in the field of construction and building. The layout of the structure and the spacing between the elements (strength and resistance of the entire system) should be confirmed by the static calculations prepared by the engineer with qualifications in the filed of construction and building.
